This announcement is to let customers know that we intend over the next month or so to upgrade the cPanel control panel software used on Zernebok servers to the newly-released version 11. cPanel 11 features a modern redesigned interface, a vastly improved file manager, and many security and performance enhancements. Another exciting new feature is the "Web Disk Manager", which will allow customers to place a shortcut on their desktop to their web hosting space, and be able to access their account simply by dragging and dropping icons like it was any other folder on your hard disk.
The main difference customers will experience is the redesigned control panel - however, the new control panel still features all the options the old control panel had; users should just find it easier to be able to do find the options they need. cPanel 11 includes a number of other behind-the-scenes changes, such as support for the latest 2.x versions of the Apache web server, which will result in improved performance compared to the present version.
We intend to upgrade the Dumbledore server to cPanel 11 first, this will likely happen in the next couple of days. Assuming there are no major problems, our other servers will be upgraded over the next month or so.
An upgrade to the latest version of PHP, PHP 5.2.3, is also planned for the next couple of weeks. This should have little effect on customers' scripts, as it is primarily a security fix.
